Excellent suggestions, Ashley. Thanks.

I don't want your list to be lost at the end of this page so I will also have it reposted on the 'Creating a Successful School Year' page for others to see and use.

Diane,

Some of the best ideas come from parents who have children that are dealing with the same or similar issues. I look forward to additional comments and information. We have made several sensory purchases. One of the favourites was the vibrating water brush. Sorry to say that the temptation to take it apart, quickly lead to it's destruction. While not a crazy expense, not willing to keep purchasing when my boy will break it so quickly. That is however one of the several vibration items that he actively chose to do.

I agree, Leslee, parents do have wonderful ideas. Their love for their child or children is the best reason for searching long and hard for great ideas and testing them. Have you found any websites or groups that have been especially helpful to you?

Thanks for the comment about the vibrating water brush. It was perfectly timed as we wanted to thank you for your detailed comment about weighted blankets but, sadly, couldn't give you a weighted blanket to show our appreciation.

The vibrating water brush will soon be on its way to you.

So much for that theory. I came up as Anonymous and can't see where I can add my name for this posting.

Guess there is still more to learn about having a blog. :-)

Hi Diane,
What a great idea. Parents could see ideas that other parents have tried (whether they worked or not) for sensory, behavior etc. I think just living with a teenager could be reason enough to receive an award!
You guessed it mom of a teenager with sensory and other issues.

Caroline, thanks for being the first to leave a message on the blog. You are the winner of a surprise R 'n R package just because you shared.
Please check in throughout the summer and if you think of something that adds stress to your life, please leave another comment or on any of the future questions.
Have a great summer.
